That is what the maid said when I told her that she could learn something as there is plenty of free time.
She is a good worker and well behaved but somehow she does not seem to like the thought of studying. I suggested that as she is quite smart and could absorb anything if she put her mind to it.
Would you be interested in studying if you had the time?

@allknowing mine has always been bad. I believe I have adhd and some sort of short term memory loss.

I usually am learning while I'm online. I watch all kinds of science videos and documentaries talking about different animals around the world. I still keep up with the newest phones out as well as new programming for computers, in case anyone around me needs help with those things.

@DaddyEvil I have picked up so much being online Just today I was doing some company reviews and came across a platform that is doing testing of a patient based on their DNA. Geneting testing seems to be the new way these days.

Atleast you have no time but the maid has plenty of time and I really do not know why she is not interested. She is a good worker and well behaved.

While I do agree with your 'philosophy' but there is a thing called encouragement and many a time we need that boost. But somehow she has made up her mind to remain at the bottom rung all her life We had another one and today she is doing her own business She learnt tailoring and she now has four machines and doing well.

@allknowing That's great that she is doing so well.
Maybe you could say that you really need her to be able to do something (like tailoring for example, so she could make things for you or for the house) and then it might take off, who knows?

I learnt computers, learnt to swim and picked up a bit of German after I gave up my job. Learning is an interesting way to spend time. Good Luck with your French
