has anyone ever tried to train a cat?

I had a Facebook memory pop up today. It said, "with a little hard work, you can actually train your cats to do exactly what they feel like doing". Yep, that has been my experience too. I guess they are trainable to a point, with food, patience, etc., but I have never managed it. I know people who have trained them to stay off the furniture. I have never bothered. Heck, my cats don't even know "no". Has anybody here actually managed to train their cat?

Not me, but I know you can train a cat to use the toilet...

@dawnald So you don't have to deal with a litter box?

I´m a dog person. And Luna is an outside dog. I stay away off her terrace (except when I pet her) and she doesn´t come in even when the doors are open.

I trained mine to stay off of counters and the kitchen table. I shake the treat jar and my cats come right inside when they are outside.

Wow, I have never tried that. But then my cats now are inside cats.
