Cougars to crocodiles, what?

Some years ago, before Steve Irwin died, I was reading about him and his wife, Terri. Apparently, she had worked for a wildlife rescue in Oregon that specialized in predators such as cougars. If I'm remembering correctly, she met him on a trip to Australia, and somehow he got her to fall in love with the crocodiles (and himself). Now crocodiles are awesome beasts that I don't mind watching from a safe distance, and hopefully from behind glass, but love? Sorry, I can love cougars, and bears, and even wolves, but crocodiles? Admire, OK, but love, I just don't think so. But that's just me.

You can not trust a crocodile they will eat you. But I do love all the other wild animals.

Both are wild animals that are unpredictable. But on land, a cougar is quicker than a crocodile. Never thought Steve Irwin would die from the poison of a stingray.

It wasn't so much the stingray poison as the fact that it got him in the heart, I believe. Very sad. Cougars are way faster, but Crocs kill way more people every year.

Sorry... my mind went elsewhere when I read your title... Cougars --- older women who like younger men, so then crocodiles must be a new term for craggy old men who persue young women? I better have something to eat.

there's a crocodile up the hill who doesn't min older women as long as they are stacked.

In childhood, we read a story about a monkey and a crocodile which teach us that you cannot trust crocodiles. They will eat you once you go near them. I hate them.

I blame Steve Irwin and Crocodile Dundee for much of the 'misinformation' about Australia and its dangerous creatures. Sometimes it seems that's all other countries know about us.

I had an Australian pen pal growing up. I remember her saying that people seem to think all your cities have Kangaroos running down the streets.

@dawnald Yes, that was the thought years back but I think most people have moved on from there now. We lived in a small country town in the early 1970s and we did actually see a roo hopping down the main street.
