U S Coast Guard rescue 2 boaters and 1 dog from a capsized boat in Louisiana

Thanks to the efforts of a family member who was notified by text message on Sunday that a family member was in trouble after their 21 foot console boat capsized on Lake Borgne near Slidell, two boaters and their dog were rescued by the rescue team of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) from a tragic ending. The USCG sent a helicopter from their New Orleans station to rescue one of the boaters to be airlifted to the helicopter while a rescue swimmer who was in the lake until a boat crew from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife rescued the dog and the other boater who is in the lake. The two boaters and the dog were taken to the Hopedale Marina where medical personnel came to take them to a local hospital where the two boaters are in stable condition. The condition of the dog that was rescued was not mentioned. I am sure that the dog went back to be with his owners back home. The cause of the boating accident is under investigation.
