A cat's tail.

You can tell if a cat is happy or sad by what their tail is doing> When your cat's tail is curved to the side in an upright position. It means your cat is relaxed and feeling friendly. When your cat is scared they will hold their tail close to the ground. They will run away close to the ground. A cat that is really scared will make her hair stand tall and arch her back. If your cat wags it tail the cat is feeling playful or curious. A tail that is lashing back and forth means the cat is fearful or aggressive. Did you know that people who have cats are happier in their life with less stress. And cope better in their life.

I can add a little bit more information... Whether a cat has a tail or not, I'm still allergic to them.

@DaddyEvil I used to have a big tank of fish and it was a lot of work keeping it clean. No more fish.

@jstory07 I do agree. And I like cats because they mirror my personality in many ways. They can be very independent and therefore don’t always need constant attention. But different cats have different personalities so it’s always possible that you get one that is constantly underfoot meowing at you incisively or jumping up on counters kitchen tables etc. lol

@TheHorse What her human slave is up to. Making sure you are doing everything she wants you to do. A cat is in charge. Not you.

And when it jumps and touches your legs what does it signify. We had a cat that used to do it when she wanted us to feed it. Good information shared.

My cat has a bob tail. She wiggles her butt when playing and ready to pounce. When something scares her like thunder, she gets under my legs or the bed. I've never seen her slink down to the floor but have seen other cats do this when scared.

The cats inside of the house appear to be happy when they are in a bed resting during the day or night. The cats in the home do assist me to feel better when they want their food throughout the day and night.

I had always heard about the "love tail," when they put their tail in the air and turn it into a question mark—not sure if that means they are telling you "I love you," or not, but I know both Cal and Grayson get very tight "love tails" when I approach or when I pet them. And even when they come around me, especially when they want to rub against my legs.

Nico does a lot of tail thumping. He is frequently uptight about something, but I ordered some Feliway. I am hoping that might calm him down a little. He could use it when Jax comes here. He gets territorial and agrgessive with Jax..but Jax provokes him by eating his food or sitting in his bed.
