Might have overpaid for stuff at Target

Went to Target Saturday evening. After hubby paid and I looked over the receipt it seemed like some items didn’t scan at the price on the shelf. It was already late and I didn’t feel like going back to those shelves to double check as they were all in different areas of the store. Now I regret it. I hope we weren’t overcharged by a lot. If the price on the shelf is less than what it scans for they should always adjust the price. But they should also change the price labels on the shelves if prices change, especially if they go up. Seems they don’t always do that. At least not right away.

You are thinking like I do Lena. I always regret not taking more care of the prices.

I hate overpaying especially when I don’t have to.

Well, first of all you went to Target. Even if they correctly charged you they overcharged you. But I always go back for my money. I am simply not going to let them have it for nothing, and if no one goes back for their money...they win.

That is what I usually do. I go get my money back. I went to Target because Progresso soup is cheaper there than in the supermarkets near us. So is the hand soap we use. And no Walmart so can't go there. Sure I can order online but I don't want to pay for shipping. Nor do I want to buy $35 worth of stuff just to get free shipping.

@porwest I am not raving about it. I don't shop there often. But some things I get are cheaper there.

@lovebuglena If it is the cheapest place near to you, surely you aren't left with many other options. I just tease of course because I hate Target. lol

Ugh. I hope it wasn't too much either. I try to use that self price scanner just to make sure of the prices (I've had those mistakes before too but didn't realize it til way later . . . so I just rather "know" for sure before buying). Once they charged me for 2 extra water jugs . . . not that it's a lot, but still money is money.

Hard to find those price scanners. They should be in a lot of places inside a huge store but doesn’t seem that way. Took us a while to find one.

@lovebuglena How strange - our Targets seem to be good about that. I think our Walmarts took them out entirely though . . . and a lot of them weren't working before that.

@much2say why did they take them out? They are convenient, though they don’t always work.

I was in a store this morning and lots of items did not have a price tag.

I don't like that either. Some stores have a price scanner but it's hard to find one. And sometimes they don't even work.

I imagine that's a daunting job to keep up with prices; but they should.

In a huge store I bet it’s not easy to change the price labels of everything whose price needs updating. Especially in a timely manner. But that means customers have to keep an eye out for shelf pricing and what the items scan for at the register.
