SafeAlarm Saved the Day

A 76-year-old woman was leaving a store here in Boise in the middle of the day. She said later that she just felt like she was being watched. In the parking lot she was accosted by a man demanding her purse. "Just give me your purse and I won't hurt you!" He said. She was scared but thought quickly and pulled the pin on the alarm she had on her purse. It went off immediately and was super loud. The man stumbled backward and ran like hell. Several people hurried over to her to see what was going on. Her daughter had given her the alarm a month earlier. Instead of a button that could accidentally be pushed it has a pull pin. With the economy worsening there has been increase in attacks lately against seniors and women. Authorities are urging seniors to get the new safety device that can easily be attached to the outside of your purse and could save you and your money.

I'm glad the guy didn't hurt her because she set off the alarm instead of just giving him her purse.

That is a great innovation. Sad that the worsening economic conditions are causing all such law and order problems. However, inflation and high prices are impacting common folks here in India as well. Personally as well, due to medical and other reasons, my Credit Card bills have seen an increase. It is not easy to manage.

Smart cookie. Did no one chase after the guy?

@celticeagle I think that the main point was that the woman saved herself with the alarm necklace. I think that every woman should get one too. You never know who is sneaking up behind you.

I have seen these alarms and similar ones online and on Amazon. We all need to do what we are able to do to be safe.

The woman was very lucky, I am glad that the man ran away. If it is easy to pull the pin, it should also be connected to an agnecy which checks up on her to see if she is ok.

Every little bit helps but with the booming sound of the alarm, I think that was all she needed.

I'm afraid that I would refuse and possibly get hurt.

That's a nice device. I would get one if it's available here.
