So I wrote about a law in California that just passed and the governor signed that doesn't allow police to use deceptive or coercive practices when questioning minors. The Innocent Project, which sponsored the law, AB 2644, wanted the law to apply to everyone, but it got whittled down in the legislature to people up to age 25, and then only to minors. Well here is my DA in a conservative county in California saying that he wants to not allow it for anyone. Wow. I'm going to try and get a conversation with him about it and my son's case. Wonder if he'll respond.

Police have always used deceptive ways and it will be hard for them not to. I hope it works out where they can not to that to young children. A lot after awhile say they did something that they did not do and that is not right at all.

They pretty much record everything now, so if the DA is watching, it should be pretty clear whether they did something.
