Huge Hummingbird

Sitting on the porch this morning a huge Hummingbird hovered over the fall arrangement I have sitting out. It sort of scared the kittens but they wanted to catch it. . I reckon the hummingbird was looking for a meal to hold it over, it's time for them to fly south. It was nice to see one up that close and that big. Do you see many hummingbirds?

We do not have hummingbirds in Europe, they live only in the Americas. How old are your kittens?

@andriaperry About the same age as my Bitty Kitty. She is a hoot, so playful. Two would be twice the fun.

We see/hear hummingbirds . . . they come and perch on our lemon or cherry tree - and we could see them from our windows. It helps that our neighbors have a few hummingbird feeders on this side of their property. But ours are teeny tiny . . . I wonder how big the ones you see are!

I rarely see them but sometimes I hear one as it zips around. I haven't heard one since last year though.

Me too. I used to love to go to mom's and watch them at her feeders, they'd come check me out then go back to the feeders. I don't have feeders here so no reason for them to come see me.

We have a few. But with this cooler weather they seem to have disappeared.

I do see them on occasion. There are some wild flowers like trumpet vine and day lily that they like. I keep water around for all the critters who might need it as well.

We don't see hummingbirds at all at this house. At the other house we moved from four years ago we'd see them quite often. They are beautiful.

We used to see a few when we had our butterfly bushes. Haven't seen one in several years. They are such cool birds. I'm glad the kittens didn't catch it!
