Meals - 10/3/22

We didn't do anything special for our anniversary. Hubs said since we don't have any bubbly, do you want a drink? I said, "meh"...The only time I have a drink is on New Year's Eve anymore...so we really didn't do anything to celebrate. We will go out to Red Lobster after my doctor's appointment on the 6th. That's when we'll celebrate.
Breakfast - None
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and pears
Dessert/Snack - Donut and decaf coffee
Dinner - Vanilla yogurt

I got out the good linens and china dishes, and we had a candle-lit supper last night.
I did up steak filets (medallions), baked potatoes, mushrooms, mixed vegetable stir fry with shrimp and apple pie.
We did not have any bubbly per say, but I did marinate the meat in the reserved stock merlot for most of the day. It was evident as the taste and colour were tasty.
We talked about the 'big' day 35 years ago, and all of those anniversaries between then and now.

@TheSojourner Although I would never intentionally make you cry, thank you-what we have is rare and special. And imagine, I am not the romantic one in this relationship. He is the mushy one, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

We had mutter paneer( cottage cheese and green peas curry), potato masala and poori ( fried indian bread) for brunch today. We were in festival mood and wanted some festive food.

@TheSojourner I hope that by next week it should be all done. Today has been a good progress with many things. Just keeping fingers crossed that it doesn't rain heavily as predicted in the next few days. Else we would have to postpone the painting of terrace and all the pots in the terrace garden.
I have never tried American cottage cheese.

Happy anniversary! How many years? We often ate at a favorite Red Lobster on our anniversary, but it changed drastically after Covid.

We will probably start out with seafood stuffed mushrooms. Then I will have the Choose Three Meal -- double order of clam strips and bay scallops, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and their delicious Cheddar Bay Biscuits.
