I'm going to hit up Trader Joe's tomorrow

I have the day off and I haven't been there since 2020. I used to go on my way to/from the gym but I stopped going to the gym in 2020 and haven't been in that area since. There isn't anything there that I absolutely NEED. But I am outrageously out of control when it comes to my food spending/waste. Both @TheSojourner and @porwest would disown me if they saw a weekly accounting of what I bought, cooked, ate, and threw out. That is if their heads didn't explode first. Trader Joe's does have some items that are cheaper than you'd find at the local grocery store. They also have many unique items that you can't find anywhere else. (at least easily) I just accept the fact that every time I walk into a TJ store I am not getting out for less than $100 and usually closer to $150. It is what it is. As one of my favorite Food Network chefs says, I "accept it and move on". I have a very loose shopping list for tomorrow: bread to make paninis with, cream cheese, fresh ravioli, frozen hash brown patties, silver dollar pancakes, cold brew coffee, tea tree tingle shampoo and conditioners, and canned cat food. Oh fresh flowers too. They have wonderful bouquets for just $5 or $6. Flowers make me happy. Anything else I add to the cart will totally be something that looks good/interesting. Their soups are good as are their salad kits. The fresh ravioli selection has changed I'm sure in the past 2 years. I like to check out their selection of cheeses. They had an unripened brie several years ago that was OUTRAGEOUS but it was seasonal and then never was seen again. I like to keep a couple of their flatbreads in the freezer for a quick lunch or dinner. Their Argentinian Red Shrimp are delicious, reasonably priced, and as the company claims--very similar to lobster in flavor and texture. I will check out their selection of coffee K-cups. And, of course, I will be on the hunt for new and interesting items. Stay tuned!

My head exploded just HEARING about it. lol. In any event, I went to Trader Joe's once about 10 or 15 years ago and was not impressed. I may go back just for kicks and grins. Maybe it has changed? I'd be interested in a look, but not to waste anything.

Have fun on your food shopping expedition. I always thought that brie was a stinky, strong cheese; but someone told me it is mild. What is the difference between a ripened and unripened brie???
