I finally took a nice swim today!

Temperatures were only in the upper 80s F today, but I had the afternoon off, so I decided to take a swim. It was good. I brought the book I'm reading, got sweaty, and then did a few lazy laps. It felt really refreshing. Is exercise a part of your routine? As the weather cools, I hope to get back into cycling.

The house-sitting has been good for us. It's much easier to get yourself up and going if there is a dog panting to go for a walk. lol

@TheHorse On the farm, we let him loose and only put him on the lead when we got close to home.

@TheHorse More by time. At least 30 minutes in the morning and several at least 10 minutes during the day.

That sounds like decent exercise. Do you walk a "certain distance"?

Oh, we don't have life guards. Hardly anyone uses the pool. They just have legal disclaimers posted all over the place.

Yes, it is.. I exercise my brain every day. I don't want to lose the use of it when I reach 60 years old.

@TheHorse I'm glad to know your brain still seems to be working... It might be a tiny bit of a problem if it quit working. I've started doing some odd things while typing lately. Sometimes I spell "the" backwards as well as a few other common words. I have no idea why, though. Of course, myLot highlights it when I do that so I catch it and correct it...

My brain still seems to be working, though I make some silly cognitive errors over and over, especially with (sic) I'm speaking or writing.

@DaddyEvil I do the same! But my most common error is typing what I'm thinking, not what I intended to write. Can I think of an example? I'm not sure. If I want to write, "The thistles were thorny," I might write, "The thorny." My brain is already on "thorny," but it does not recognize that I have not yet typed "thistles were." The common "th" is relevant. I make this error more often when the beginnings of the words involved are similar.

It’s too cool here for swimming. Our pools didn’t open this summer anyway. Glad you enjoyed a swim.

@RubyHawk I hate it when I turn into the suspicious type. Were they saving money?

@TheHorse I’ve never received a good answer. One they had to order a new pump for one of the pools. One was open a few times but I didn’t know when.

Exercise is not really a part of my routine. I only exercise whenever I have the time and energy

You look a lot like Janet Leigh in that photo. I took a nice walk today, which I’ll write about later.

I walk every day and that is my exercise. With the house on three levels I go up and down the stairs so many times, that is also a good exercise.

You are lucky to be able to have a pool to swim in. I am a poorer swimmer and always enjoyed swimming in pools because there was a side with less water. I mostly only exercise my arms and hands on the keyboard.

What kinds of music do you play? Have you heard my ONE keyboard piece on YouTube? Piano was my first instrument, and I'm still convinced it's the best instrument for young kids.

I hate exercise for its own sake, so I have to say that no I don't routinely 'exercise' in a gym or suchlike. I do cycle around town a lot, three times this week I've been out on various errands which must total about 25 miles (the little mileometer on my bike has stopped working, which is very annoying ) and each time I have pushed my bicycle over the enormous railway bridge on the way home which must count as resistance training! But I do enjoy swimming and I try various different strokes for each lap so it isn't so boring.

Heh. I sometimes do the same when I do laps. Cycling definitely counts as well!
