George is officially on vacation.

My husband, George, has been looking to retire. However, for the past year he's cut back on his hours to make retirement easier on him. Since he's worked full-time up until the end of last year, he has vacation hours to use. Which he's done off and on through the year. Having used some due to Ian.
His requested vacation officially begins next Friday, and he offered to work next Thursday. But, his boss told him he's got him covered. So now, he has a little over two weeks off. Doesn't feel like it, because he's had five days off for the past couple of months. I just hope we don't get to annoyed with each other.

I'll say. I am not too upset by the retired life.

@porwest George having a stroke did kind of put a kink in things, but he was retired when it happened so we didn't loose money.

No, I don't think so. I've gotten used to his changing schedule. He's eased down which is good for both of us.

@LadyDuck That's cool. I'm the tech nerd in the family.

@kaylachan - I am glad we have a pretty big home, I stay upstairs and he stays in another room with his computer.

Your last sentence made me laugh. I hope instead you have a great time together.

It will take some adjustment when he finally retires. My brother in law retired about 9 months ago, and sis works at home most of the time. so they have to kind of stay out of each other's ways I think. Their house isn't very big really, at least the living areas(mine is bigger). They have a garage/basement. though.

Yeah, I know. We still manage. He says he's going to work two days a week for as long as he can, because he's far to active to quit completely. He's just reached the age where he can start to collect on his retirement.

We're planning to go to our favorite staycation place for their evening social for his birthday. And, sometime this week, we need to get his tag for the van. He wants to use our new grill, too.

He's already planning to stay on his part-time schedule for as long as he can. But, he earned the vacation hours, and wants to make use of them before they expire in December.
