Please Think About it Seriously

I really am tired of writing about him. The putz that is. Or Donald J.Trump. And, I am relatively sure a lot of you mylotters are tired of my posts on the subject. Well, I just hate to see that man in the office again. I try to let people know about him. I guess it is futile. But, in about 2 and 1/2 weeks many of you will be voting for the representatives in your areas here in the US. Please remember these things: A republican vote means Marjorie Taylor Greene on Oversight Committees and the House Judiciary. This also means Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House. This also means abortion will not be an option and will be illegal around the country even in cases of incest or rape. They will be quick to cut Social Security and let the rich get by with little taxes and the middle class will take up the slack. And Trump will be looming in the foreground ready to take over the country. Please give this serious thought. Our democracy is at stake.

I'm not looking to start an argument here, but I'm not sure about your comments or where you're getting your information regarding Social Security, taxes on the middle class, and abortion rights. These are just media talking points and scare tactics. Neither party would ever cut social security for instance, it has been established for so long, is very popular, and if they did the public would vote them out of office in an instant. Republicans have always been in favor of lower taxes; Democrats tax all classes more by increasing the taxable income tables. They need to do this because of all the spending they do on creating wasteful social programs that the states should be making decisions about. For abortion see the response I made to Vicki. If I might add something... your political posts will not change anyone's mind on who they support for office. This is such a fun site with so many interesting topics to discuss, why focus your energies on politics? It is so divisive unless you are just looking for like-minded people who agree with you. P.S.- If you get satisfaction out of expressing your political views, then by all means continue doing so. Although not everyone agrees with what you are saying especially if the facts are unclear. I hope you are not offended by my response, but I am one of those people who get tired of seeing political posts with biased viewpoints from left-wing media outlets. I usually don't respond to these kinds of posts, but on occasion I will try to inform as you are attempting to do.

@dgobucks226 .........I just want to state that inflation is not just here in the US. It is caused by war and unrest all over. Biden gets blamed for so much. He is a good president and is doing so much. I feel that the Republican party is going down the toilet. It needs to stand up and get Trump out. Trump is where most of my negativeness toward the Republicans comes from. He is a dangerous man. He is doing nothing positive, that I can see, for the party. My grandparents were very Republican. They would turn over in their graves if they saw what was going on with the party nowadays.

I get my information from legal experts and those who have been studying politics for decades. Abortion, Social Security, and such are important topics in the country, SS always has been. I am not saying it will be abolished but I am saying it could see some heavy cuts. Yes, Democrats spend money on things and will have to do more spending because of how Republicans have left certain areas. It takes forever to get them back in sinc after Republicans have been in office since one president can only run for four years. Not long to get things accomplished. Why center my focus on politics? Because I am afraid of the republicans taking over and our democracy becoming a thing of the past. It is very scary and I sure wish people would take it more seriously. I am trying to open mylotters minds and get them to understand what the outcome could be. Of course, I will continue to voice my views on here. No one has the right to tell me otherwise. I am trying to enlighten people to the dire outcome possible on the horizon. This is a very important time in our history.

@celticeagle First, none of this is personal just a response to your comments. Well, I certainly agree with your passion however misguided it is. I would ask you who exactly are these legal experts and on what news programs their on, but I probably already know the answer. And as far as being worried about the future I am too. but for completely opposite reasons than yours. Mine are based on the terrible decisions currently being made by the leaders of the Democratic party (Shumer, Pelosi, and the self-described social democrats) who will turn us into a third world/socialist country if they remain in power. I'm also concerned about us getting involved in a war with Russia, since they have nuclear weapons and a crazy leader in Putin who would probably use them. I'm also concerned about the economy and how I will be able to continue to afford to pay for these rising costs exasperated by the decisions of the Biden administration. I noticed in addressing my points about social security, abortion, and tax and spend programs you really did not offer any facts to back up your views in refuting my arguments. You only blamed the Republicans for the mess, yet with Biden now in office over 1 year, inflation is at the worst level since the 70's, we have a border crisis (just find a news source that will actually show video), a fentanyl crisis, higher grocery/gas prices, and we now have heightened tensions with countries like China, Russia, and North Korea, due to Biden's terrible plan withdrawing from Afghanistan. His blunder has emboldened these countries to test us as seen with the Ukraine situation, North Korea now shooting missiles again, and China threatening to invade Taiwan. These are facts brought on by the current policies of this administration not a left over from the Republicans. Now that's a mess! And I did not even discuss what's going on in our schools with CRT, gender affirmation, and other woke points of view. As you can see there is not just "one opinion" out there as the 'gaslighting" leftist media wants the public to think. In closing, I'll just say that although you feel these posts are well-intended and informative, they just wind up being decisive and, in my view, useless in influencing anyone to change their minds on issues. And of course, you have the right to continue posting them and I never told you not to. Perhaps you missed my comment in my first response. Here it is again: "If you get satisfaction out of expressing your political views, then by all means continue doing so." For me, I'll stick with posting about music, food, fun observations, and helpful hints. They actually do a lot more to inform and entertain, than biased opinions about politics. But as I stated before, post what you want, and if I see political information I disagree with or is factually wrong, I have a right to respond. No offense intended. Have a great day!

I agree with the last sentence in your post. You are wrong about abortion being illegal even in cases of incest or rape. Most states will keep the same policies they have now. I'm not Trump's greatest fan, but Biden would be a joke if the stakes weren't so high.

Yes, our democracy is at stake. If Trump or other Republicans take over the Senate then the abortion situation will only get ugly across the country. Sure, they may stay as they are right now for now but I doubt they will if Republicans are able to take over.

@dgobucks226 .......No, it isn't yet. But it could be. There are already women who have nearly lost their lives because they couldn't get an abortion. The Federal Government certainly doesn't have that right. Some states are making it very difficult for women to remain healthy and live happy lives. It is already happening.

I was going to point the same thing out about abortion Vicki. It is not illegal countrywide. All the Supreme Court did was get rid of an ambiguous precedent and turn the decision about having an abortion and what situations are acceptable (like incest or rape) and let each state decide. The Federal Government has no right to dictate and get involved in a citizen's personal decision or beliefs.

A few would like to set the cat among the pigeons to disrupt the status quo. Hope they think of the consequences too

I wish voters would consider what they are voting for, but with Trump supporters they will support him in spite of all the consequences.

I do respect your opinion but I am in position to comment or react appropriately for I am not a citizen of your country. Besides I really hate to talk about politics. I am fed up of it. It's plain dirty business.

I feel the same way. I am keeping info about Trump in my posts because I want people to know how awful he is. So they don't vote for him.

@celticeagle That's a good idea. But yet Trump has his avid followers who will vote for him.
