In Death You Are Mine Forever

In movies where there is a definite threat, to the heroine usually, the murderer usually says something like "You will be mine forever!" The poor demented soul feels that if they can't have this person in real life then they will kill them and by doing so they will have them forever.
I don't get it!!
If you kill someone aren't they dead? Even spiritually the person is not available for comment.
Why would someone be obsessed with another and then kill them if they can't have them? I can see the "If I can't have you no one will" but the "You will be mine forever" makes no sense to me at all.

You can“t think that a murderer has any sense. He is either mad or evil.

Some people are just weird. Even if they aren't mentally challenged, there's something wrong in the way they think and process emotions and ideas.

"Mine forever" means the murderer or killer had his victim defaced from his sight.
