She got in my lap!

I've had Onyx for 5 years, even though she's a few weeks older than Opal. She loves people, but not other cats. However, she's not a lap sitter. So, I was in the bathroom doing that thing you do there and she was on my leg kneading. Kitty needles on bare skin isn't something I recommend. So, I pushed her off and pulled my shorts, yes I'm wearing shorts at the end of October, up to protect my legs. Then she comes back and does it. And then she did it! She actually got on my lap. She didn't lay down or anything, that was a good thing, because she jumped off after about a minute and I was done. Not with lap kitties, with that thing you go to the bathroom for. I was excited, well, not terribly excited, but she hadn't done it before. Opal wants me to hold her, but she wants to climb up on my shoulder, and the little darling has 18 hypos on the end of her paws. Great, huh? So, do you have a pet that likes to get on laps, or are they like Onyx?

I am honestly glad that not all of my cats are lap cats, I have less lap than I did in my 20s...

@CarolDM well, I don't sit out where the brats can sit on me, and Elizabeth isn't going to do it at all

My bet does not like to jump on my lap or to climb on me, he wants to be brushed and he loves to roll on a blanket that I keep for him on the floor.

I have cats that love pets, but most aren't lap cats. Teeny and Boris get on the roommate, but I don't spend much time in the front room where the big chair is. Opal will climb on me and sink her nails in my shoulder for pets.

@ElicBxn The cat of my neighbors is a lap cat. When I sit down in the garden he always jumps on my lap.

Nico likes to sit on laps when it is cool in the house or outside, but not when it is warm outside. It is always a thrill when cats that don''t often sit on laps do that..Needless to say we both like th fall!

Normally I like fall, but this year so far it has either been cold or hot, well, it has felt that way to me. Today I've been running cold... hate that.

Burt is a cat that likes to rest on a bed during the day but he never wants to sit on my lap at all.

Sorry to hear that. A lap cat is a wonderful thing, but even just laying nearby is good.

I also love cats. I even love those who don't love people. I was getting ice last night and Elizabeth, my inside feral, was looking at me. I could've touched her, but I didn't want her to run away.
