How Was Your Day?

When the night comes on early, it throws my body off. In about a week, we go backwards, and I'll be thinking it's bedtime at 5 pm! Gone are those 2am bedtimes. I am tired tonight. I decided to sleep in the Livingroom last night to feel the heater better, but my cat decided I disrupted her routine and jumped on me several times giving a pitiful meow. I gave up at daybreak, made my coffee and the little poop goes to sleep. I drove the 35 minutes to Albany (Oregon), for the YMCA and forced myself to get my work out in even though I was very tired and in considerable pain. I am keeping it up as the inches are coming off now. I still have 30 lbs to go on losing but have 45 off since last year. No surgery happened either. I know I mentioned that last year but decided not to do it since the plate method has helped and I stopped dieting. I want to be stronger and more weight off for when I finally get the first knee replacement (praying its January.) I also have severe psoriatic arthritis and really feel the destruction lately. After, I took donations to the Teen Challenge thrift store and found a couple nice sweaters, a lovely plate, vase and some odd mini bowl things from Thailand. They are painted and I just thought they are so cool. I live in a mini house where all the rooms run together but do have a separation to my bedroom. The heat doesn't get in there well. I'll put another blanket on the bed and sleep back in there, so my cat will behave. She's a very spoiled 13 year-old. It's pouring rain with some wind. I love hearing it and so glad to see it after being so dry. I'm headed to bed and will catch up some more tomorrow after my trip into the city to the YMCA. Sleep well. How was your day?

Great job on your weight loss journey! Keep up the good work. I'm having knee problems again in my right knee, the one the doctor says needs a total replacement, but won't do because I'm still too young (his words, not mine lol). I'm going back to rehab again to see if that helps, along with stretches and special exercises. I just need to continue to buy time until he feels I'm "old enough" to go forward with the knee replacement.

@noni1959 I went to see my orthopedic surgeon this week, and thankfully the issues I’m having with my knee is not related to need for a knee replacement. And surprisingly, he said that considering I have been bone on bone for years now, my knee seems to be in pretty good shape.

Thank you. I'm working on it and trying to keep my routine. I arrived at my son's today and used his work out machine. I'm so sleepy now. I'm sorry you are having issues again and need a total replacement. They do last longer now. Don't drag it out like mine. I hope you had a good day.

@moffittjc That's amazing in good shape for bone-on-bone. Both mine are very bad. I'm a lot older than you too so it's time and I hope no more covid cancellations or anything to get in the way.

That’s great that you are trying to get more exercise in. That’s probably a good idea to get more weight off the knees before surgery. I love thrift Stores. The teen one sounds neat.

@noni1959 oh that’s very kind! The thrift store my daughter works at is a non-profit. It gives people fuel assistance, back packs and shoes for kids going back to school, counseling for those in recovery etc. Their prices are great too.

I am glad you didnt have the surgery and had success with something else Loretta..congrats and I am proud of you! You are great to keep going so early and driving all that way..I would be pooped Sorry you suffer from that psoriatic arthritis..wonder what causes that. I was thinking I might have it but it is only on my fingers on my right hand. Not sure about it. I love the sound of rain and wind! Nice for you to donate too. I am not sure what i am doing lately, too much to mention here going on..always something.

@noni1959 I will Loretta. Oh I did not know that it was genetic. Anyway in any case, I am so sorry you get it. Mine only comes and goes and is just something I have noticed recently.

I'm very pooped. Psoriatic arthritis is genetic, and most times comes on between the ages of 30 and 50. I have the rarest form having all the different types. I was 27 when hints of pain were there and 30 when diagnosed when in a full-blown flare. There are so many types of arthritis. If your hands or other areas hurt, please see a RA.

@RebeccasFarm I hope you can have more better days and not progress. There are stages and unfortunately, nothing helped the progression and I have a lot of deformities now.

Better to add another blanket if your bedroom is not warm enough, your kitty will surely appreciate a warmer place where to sleep.

I have but they feel too heavy for my arthritis and hurt to move them and get them off me. I do want it warmer so going to move the divider and open it up for the winter.

I hope you can get the rest of your weight off and you can have the knee replacement surgery in January. You'll feel so much better after it's done.

You sound like you had a very busy day and I give you a lot of credit pushing through pain to workout and doing all that you did. It's been raining here and I've been more on the lazy side the past few days. The weather keeps changing here from cold to hot and I keep putting an extra blanket on the bed and taking it off and putting it on and taking it off

I'm at my son's for a few days. He brought me out an electric blanket. I'll be nice and toasty tonight.

Your kitty is elderly and needs you. I miss Sonny James kitty. Those fifteen years flew by. It sounds like you are working hard to improve your health. Congrats on the weight loss. I need to get busy on that front.

She is considered 69 in cat years. She's always been a clingy special kitty. She isn't happy I'm gone but my oldest daughter is there caring for her.

It's been a good day here although we've had a few computer challenges. They are sorted now - at least for the time being. Who knows what will happen tomorrow.

Our clocks went back on Sunday morning and my system was off. I was up at six, not that that the cats minded having breakfast early, from my point of view. An early night, last night, went down very well and a bit more lively this morning!
