Is it only here or in your place too?

There is a big difference in public school education and private school education here. I don't know in other towns or province but if you are studying in public schools expect the quality of education is poor. If you study in private schools you get the best education. When I'm in public school we don't often have exams and some of my teachers seldom teach. When I studied in private school I really need to study for exams and I have good books and teachers really teach. Others say there is no difference in public and private schools but here in my place there is a big difference. Also the lessons in private schools are advance lessons while in public schools they are left behind. Where did you send your kids to private or public schools?

It's different here in my town. Studying in the public school is better than the private school because the teachers in the public school are all board passers while those who teach in the private are fresh graduates and most of them haven't taken the board exam yet. Most of the teachers too in the public school here already have many years of experience in teaching that's why they produce good students. I too is a product of that school when I was in grade school.

You said it right. It's really true. Here those in the upper class usually send their kids to private schools and ordinary people in public schools

@brokenbee my sister is a master teacher in a private school and she complains about how they train the newly hired, non LPT passers and after a year of two, they apply to government schools

@sol_cee I'm impressed by teachers because it is not really an easy job and you really have to be smart if you want to be a teacher

We had no kids, both my husband and I went to private school. There was a difference in the past in Italy, no more now.

@LadyDuck My youngest sister also went to a government university but it is a prestigious university here in my country. It is the one that I know that is a state school that has high standard in education

Yes there are also good public schools around. But they are not that many. I know my mom used to work in a public school and they have made good graduates that excel in their college days. I think there is a big difference in how private and public school teaches their students. The quality of students they have is way much better than those that finish their studies in private schools. Although if you compare the salaries of Public vs Private Public School Teachers are way higher than that of a private school teachers except maybe here in Metro Manila.

@averygirl72 That is true it also depends on the learner if he can cope with the demands of the school. It can be that he attends a good private school but cannot cope with them the result would just not be the same. The same goes for students who excel in Public Schools would usually compare to a student from private schools.

If you are rich there is no problem to send your kids in private school but if you can't afford you just be satisfied in public schools. I think there are good public schools and also poor private schools. It really depends on the administration

I went to a public school and teachers back then weren’t so jaded when it comes to low salary but long hours of work. I guess they wanted to give quality education despite the circumstances

I send my children to a private school and in India too it's the same thing. Now in Delhi the CM is bringing government school standard at par with private school.

@averygirl72 That's right. That's the reason young couples in India avoid having children.

@aninditasen Really? That is sad. Majority of the kids here just enroll in public schools

Not at all.I have been a classroom teacher and a school principal. My students did excell in academics and our school has been recognized as one of the effective elementary schools in our division.

That is good to know. I think it depends on the teacher and the school principal. There are teachers too that are not that good in private schools

Me and my kids have gone to private schools. I have found a difference in the children who have studied in private schools and public schools. May be because rules are stricter in private schools and there is less discipline in public schools.

Yes, there are differences here as well. But most noticeable one is the emphasis on regional language vs English language as a teaching medium.
