I have found a frog(I love frogs) that can be frozen solid all winter and then return to normal in the Spring. It is the wood frog. Sugar seems to act as an anti-freeze in their bodies. When there is the first sign of ice in late fall or early winter they freeze solid. As temperatures begin to rise in the spring they thaw. Their heart and brain thaw first and then their bodies. It takes 10 hours for them to become fully functional again.

Do frogs hibernate? That's amazing. What about snakes?

I wonder about sugar acting as antifreeze... how that works.
