Still Not On Plan...

I know I was supposed to get back on track during the past 2 months and do better for my next Endocrinologist appointment. Luckily that is not for a month. However, I don't think that is going to be very successful. I know I will not be 100% back on plan till after the new year. What I can try to do now though is work out at least 5 days a week for an hour. Eat low carb WHEN I can and try to stay under 1500 calories daily (whether high or low carb). I know when I don't count my calories and eat high carb I probably eat 2,000 plus calories. I had gained 10 pounds when I saw the doctor last time. I am up I think 17 pounds SINCE then! I know insulin can make you gain weight, but I didn't think this much. Maybe it is a mix of that and eating so many calories - although for months I did that and mostly just maintained weight. I wonder if I have a thyroid issue. I wouldn't be surprised. All I can do is try these things through the rest of the year and get back on the low carb/keto wagon in January. The doctor may add more than just the long lasting insulin...I know I am sort of in between type 1 and type 2 with producing only a tiny amount of insulin. Time will tell...just thought I would update on the diet thing.

The best you can do is get back on the correct diet and exercise routine. I'm doing everything possible to get my sugar down a notch when I see my doctor in two weeks.

@MommyOfEli2013 For me I would rather follow doctors orders than take insulin. Insulin costs more than $300. per month. That is if you only need two injections a day. It's probably higher now.

@RubyHawk Well, good for you that you can do that. I don't like to follow "orders" never have, never will. Thankfully I don't have to pay for insulin at the moment. Hoping next year I can get back on track and no longer need the insulin. Hoping if I stay on track earlier in the year by the end low carb will just be my life. Although I like convenience and low carb is not convenient.

I can't make that promise til January. I just don't have the self control to do that around all the birthdays and holidays. I know I should do it in between but my brain doesn't know how to do that. I will at least try to get back into working out.

Keto and low-carbs diet is essential and beneficial. I do hope you get your health plans get going and you stick with it if you see the results working for you with your goals.

Just eat less food at a time for the next two months. Good luck getting back on a plan in January.

That does not matter if I am eating carbs my sugar will still spike. Doesn't matter if I eat a small meal.
