I usually don't like to do "multiple things" posts. But since I am on a bit of a break, but still here, I suppose one is in order since there are lots of things going on to talk about. Went to the Country Mart in Freeburg, Illinois today. Nothing special. Just a grocery store not far from where we live and we got some good deals so I wanted to take advantage of that. One was a beef rump roast on sale for $3.99 per pound. That's a steal in these inflationary times. So I picked one up and will make a Mississippi Pot Roast out of it. Not sure why it is called that. Put the roast in the crock pot and seasoned it with garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, slathered on some real horseradish, poured over a packet of Ranch dressing mix, and then put a whole cut up stick of butter on it. Over that I diced some onions and put that on it. Poured a little beer around the meat. And then took a packet of brown gravy mix and poured that over the meat. I will make it tomorrow and cook it for eight hours in the crock pot on low. Meanwhile, the Powerball drawing is tonight for $1.6 billion, and I have no less than 20 tickets at $2 a pop. So, I spent $40 for a chance at a cool nearly $2 billion that is worth about $790 million on the cash option. Tonight for dinner I am going to make baked chicken leg quarters. I am going to skin them and then put them into the baking dish. I'll season them up a bit and then pour some pasta sauce over them and then dice up some onions and put that on top. We will probably have a loaded baked potato on the side.

@marguicha It was super delicious, fork tender, and scrumptious. Definitely a do-over.

We are watching Destination Truth and I am finally catching up here. I have been sick for a few days, and haven't done a whole lot. I am trying to get my butt into gear for earning for the rest of the year.

@porwest I'm feeling a little more human today, not completely. But with it enough to spend some time earning some money online lol.

Great time to be in the stock market if you aren't already—and nothing like passive income. But on all earning fronts, I hope you can meet your goals. I'd like to ramp up some of that too. Never a bad thing to have more money, that's for sure, no matter where it comes from. Especially with all this damn inflation. Hope you get to feeling better soon too.

lol. I tend not to like the read those "all over the place" posts, partly because they are confusing and hard to respond to.

It is what it is. As long as you have something to talk about, the better chance you have to drum up conversation. Which helps everybody if you get nice long threads going.

@porwest I don't because it's not really that easy to do, when you can't see what you're doing. I suppose I could, but that wouldn't be easy.

@kaylachan Sometimes using my myLot code is not easy to use. I tend to sometimes just type in the code myself which is much easier.

I enjoy the extended threads. I just wish when they happen more people would copy and paste into italics what they are responding to. Makes it easier to keep up. I always do it. But few others do.

I've made Mississippi pot roast a couple of times but it hasn't amazed me. I also found the butter to be totally unnecessary.

Usually I use a chuck roast with something like this, but chuck roast was not on sale. Sometimes the rump roasts don't get as tender, but we will see.

Didn't win a dime on the PowerBall. Oh well. It is what it is. But the roast turned out better than expected. It was delicious.

Your crockpot dinner sounds good. How are you doing with your salt intake? Those packets you're putting on the roast are loaded with sodium. Though, I'm sure it will taste delicious. Drawing tonight for the power ball. The largest in history is what the news said this morning.

How a, I doing with my salt intake? Hmm. Pissing off my cardiologist? lol. He has yet to increase my medication dose so the medicine must be working. Still. I go back in on the 8th of December, so we will see what he says.

Hubby bought almost $100 worth for the drawing prior. He didn't even win $1. He did get 4 numbers but all in different games. I wonder if he bought any for tonight's drawing. $1.9 billion is worth a gamble, though I am not sure I'd spend close to $100 for it as the chances of winning the jackpot are slim.

A whole stick of butter? I wonder why? I learned something about the Powerball drawing. One, no one won yesterday...but if you don't play the extra number and you match 5 numbers, you only win a million. Hubs didn't know that and only played the 5 numbers. Live and learn.

I am not sure he read that right. I mean, yes, no one won, and the jackpot is now $1.9 billion as of this writing. But the 6 numbers are automatic. You have to play all 6. The option is the Power Play option which adds a multiplier to the wins except for the jackpot. The system won't let you play only 5. You have to choose a powerball to accompany the 5. Other than that, if you don't play the Power Play option and match all 5 it is only worth $1 million. But again, you can't play it at all without choosing a powerball number. Even if the system picks for you, it picks 5 primary numbers and 1 powerball. A ticket costs $2 for regular play, $3 if you choose the Power Play option.
