QR Codes Are Awful
I really hate those stupid QR Codes they use as barcodes, bus and train timetables and on official forms, I-Phones and even as an alternative to concert tickets. I used to love keeping and collecting tickets for events I have attended. There are pubs that line the walls with them.
The QR code looks like a scribble on a tiling panel, devoid of character and of zero aesthetic quality. I also lack the tech for downloading or reading them so I have to get them printed out to take them to events I can only access with them. They are horrible.

Totally agree with you on this one. I hate them myself and they are using them more and more.

If you have a smartphone, it's just an app you download, take a picture of the QR code and the app translates it for you.

@DaddyEvil I have one, but after reading this, I have no interest, is this what they use as scan and go?

I guess you don't have an Android smartphone, either? I'm not a fan of QR codes but while we have them in the US, they aren't that prevalent in my part of the US.

@arthurchappell An Android phone can also run the apps to translate the QR codes.

We hate them because we don't have smartphones. There are a lot of things that we are excluded from because we can't scan the QR codes.

Most phones, both Apple and Android have built-in QR code readers in them. All you need is a smart phone with a camera. It's not that hard, really. I find them easy to use, and a huge time saver.

I agree with you. Thank goodness my husband understands them, he will scan them when necessary.

They are not easy to work with that's for sure. With some your need a qr reader while others will work with ones camera and provide a link.
I try not to save much so that's not a problem for me but I know the older generation will have a difficult time with using them.
How are your Arthur? I don't remember when I looked you up last. I know it was last year sometime and maybe after August when I began taking a break from here.

@Ronrybs I never use them - the problem is that I have to get them printed out on some forms so others can scan them

@arthurchappell I was talking to a friend about them today and at one time you used to see them all over the Underground, but can't say I've seen one in a long while
