Oh Wow ~ This Is NOT My Dude

Last year a black cat visited my deck. Looked just like my black cat, the Dude. He stayed around the deck all day. Peeking in the window at my cats. They were not too interested surprisingly. He returned today. My Dude is watching him on the deck from inside. He must belong to someone in the neighborhood. I can hear him talking to the birds like my Dude does. So funny when my Dude saw him on the deck. He was being sneaky and peeking through the blinds. Kind of cute to see them looking back and forth at each other. Brendel is not too interested. She checked him out from the window then went back to sleep. He is such a pretty cat and seems well taken care of. I hope he has a home. It just really surprised me at first to see him. I thought my Dude was outside. Have you had friendly animals visit your yard? Photo is mine.

No, not really. Although I did see a lot of birds flying around today, they looked like black scraps.

@CarolDM I think strays are more common around apartment complexes or places where humans are known to drop food.

@CarolDM When I am out and about I see both cats and dogs. The cats look like stray ones and the dogs are with humans.

One in awhile I have had cats wander by and take a nap on the deck.

Your photo is cute. I like the way Dude is watching. We have had several cats visiting us and lately there is this black female who gets inside and helps herself with Peppie's food. Peppie likes her but he cannot stand any tom cats visiting.

There are a pair of kittens that look half-starved that were in the yard today. I'm sure someone in the neighborhood will report them to the city pound. Our city has laws about pets off the leash.

@CarolDM Pretty would adopt them if I wasn't so allergic to furbabies. (She'd probably fill the house with cats and dogs except for me being so allergic to them. )

Awww how sad. We have laws too but they are not always obeyed. But over he past few years I rarely see animals around without owners.

Yes, my neighbor's cat stopped by, when she was living. Calico cat, passed. Then, my neighbor moved away. Interesting, a cat visiting, seeming to wanting to make friends with your fur babies?

Interesting that one stranger cat found your place a nice place to hang out. I wonder if you let your cats out how they will interact with each other. I think he feels comfortable in your place because he can sense that you have many other cats in your place.

I have two cats that come in my yard all the time. I know who they belong to and I feed them. The people that own them leave one cup of dry food outside for them every day. One cup for two cats to eat is not enough. So if they come into my yard I feed them.

When I see Michelle and Ringo from the back they both look completely black so then I have to look from the front to see which is which since Ringo has white fur in the front and on his paws,

Squirrels and very loud blue Jays visit my yard. I think a neighbor's gray cat sheltered under a shed at one point but left due to our dog's interest.

When I was at the house we had all sorts of loose dogs who wound up in our yard. After Hurricane Sandy several cats came by each night and I always had bowls of food and water out for them.
