We have 31 windows and all of them have been covered with mosquito nets. At that time we went in for ordinary plywood frames for these nets and they are now giving way.
While the net is intact we have decided to remove the frame and replace the net on new frames.
They have brought the strips already cut to size. They now only need to assemble them. The material is kind of reinforced plastic which will not be eaten by wood worms. The frame will then be painted to match the colour around which is dark brown

Your house has a peaceful look to it. Loved it. I can sit and meditate there

@Gnana_Helps We gave up our city life and chose a semi rural town for retirement.

You have a lots of windows there. That's a lovely set up. I like that big pot decor item. I have seen it earlier too in some of your pictures.
All the windows and sliding doors in my house are protected with mosquito nets.

At the time of constructing the house it never occurred to us that we would have to fight with mosquitoes and even other pests so we quickly went in for something cheap. But it lasted for quite a few years. The cats played havoc too. (lol)

@allknowing These mosquitoes and other pests have increased many folds in the last two decades.
Cats definitely love to interfere with everything.

They have brought some material that looks like plastic pretty thick and it can be painted. The advantage is that it will not be eaten by wood worms.

@LadyDuck When the contractor comes I will ask him for the name of the material.

@allknowing It is a good material and it seems to last and keep well through the years.

We do not have curtains and all windows have venetian blinds and they need repair. It will be expensive to replace them with new blinds.

@Fleura The blinds blades - thanks to our cats have lost their evenness. I just checked the price for new blinds - Rs. 250/sa.ft. Our total needs are for 450 sq/ft. - too prohibitive. I am looking for anyone who can replace those blades that need replacement.

@allknowing You're right, these things sure add up. We have quite a lot of windows too, in fact I should count them! And they all match of course so if we replace one it would need to be the same as all the rest or we would need to replace all!

They are vertical louvres that could be opened and even locked. In the bedrooms and kitchen we have them opaque.

I am happy with what is being done. The frame will be painted to match the decor around. As the material is in white.

Yeah, reinforced plastic is better than wood. I saw that the wooden door was easily eaten by termites. Even though the door is still new, it hasn't been installed for too long
