Made it through the night.

And, surprisingly, we still have power. Every few hours it flickers, threatening to go out, but it holds strong. The most annoying, is waiting for the Wi-fi to reconnect. I am thankful to have cell service too, and it's about the same as if the storm wasn't here. During Ian, we lost both. Chilly isn't sure what he thinks of the storm, and tried to attach himself to us while purring.

I'm glad you didn't lose power. I'm sure he's scared of the storm.

Well if he is, he's not under the bed. He's on top. So, I am thankful for that.

Glad you made it through the storm! I was watching some of the coverage from WESH, since I lived in Daytona as a teenager…very concerned for my “old stomping grounds.” I’m waiting to hear from my uncle, who lives near Orlando.

Not sure what's going on over there, either. But the worst of it is behind us. We had the heavy stuff overnight as expected and now it's mostly rain. George is looking for coverage on YouTube on it, and not really finding anything that wasn't posted yesterday. We have no beach and six of twenty-two homes found their way into the ocean.

@FourWalls Yep. twenty-two buildings in total, most homes, are structurally unsound and residents are not allowed to return. As of this morning six of them already fell to the Atlantic.

@kaylachan — I saw that a lot of condo buildings in DB Shores are being evacuated for being unsafe. Seventeen of them, according to WESH.

I'm glad you're doing okay there. Can't believe you're getting hit with a second storm so soon after the last one

Thankfully Nicole was nothing like Ian. I hope that is the last storm as the season draws to a close.

The tropics are quiet, and this likely will be the last one. But, we still have a few weeks left before the season ends.

@kaylachan Yes we do, but the oceans are beginning to get cooler.

Yeah. Now with solar we only notice if the AC turns off or the washing machine locks.

Great to read this update about your power. Chilly needs your reassurance.
