Browsing For Christmas Gifts

United States

Happy Thursday Everyone! I've been sitting here enjoying my coffee while browsing online for some gift ideas for Christmas. I have 3 people that aren't family that I want to acknowledge with a Christmas gift. My hairdresser, the girl who grooms the dog and my neighbor across the street who is always bringing my trash can back from the curb. I've seen all sorts of gift baskets and some have caught my attention but some of the ones I really like are above my price range and others that are in my price range are just lacking. I know I have time to find the "perfect" gift for these people and I don't want to give cash or a gift card. Meanwhile I should be doing other things without getting lost on the internet Do you have trouble finding gifts for people? I try to find gifts that fit the person I'm buying for Why is it that I can find plenty of things for myself??

It is very hard to pick gifts I know but that is mostly because there is so much choice.

Well you could always make them something homemade. That might be nice.. Cookies in gift bags or a pretty cellophane wrapped tray might be good.

Homemade cookies would be a good idea for my neighbor. He's so kind to bring my trash pails up for me every week and since he's a family man it would a nice gift for all of them

@Marilynda1225 That is nice. I am not especially fond of my mail lady, but I could leave her a small offering I guess.

@snowy22315 I've never given a gift to my mail person Wouldn't know if its a man or woman. They just drive up, put the nail in the box and zip off

It's always easier to buy for yourself, than someone else.

Because you know what you like. I run into that all the time, and think - no, the person won't like that. You'll know when you see it.

Isn't that just the case! Keep looking, you've got time and you'll find just the gift for your people.

Often times if you buy what you would like, the other person likes it too.

It's easy to find something we'd want but hard to find something we're sure other people would really like as a gift. (Most people buy what they want so that doesn't leave much choice for someone who isn't positive of their tastes.) The last few years I've just told Pretty what I was thinking about getting for her and she always tells me not to bother. She says she buys the things she really wants.

You could put your own basket together for each one. That way you can theme them and I am sure for less than the good looking ones

Before today, I've sometimes filled my own baskets. Of course, now I don't have any empty baskets left but sometimes you can pick them in thrift stores. Perhaps you could fill one with 'stuff'. Normally, it would cost a lot less than buying one already made up.

I have a problem picking gifts for others. My best friend has a birthday soon so I'm taking her out to eat.

I have to do that this weekend too. I need to start getting ideas so I can get a start at my Christmas shopping.

I find it very convenient to give a gift basket. I also like receiving them.

Its very exciting to look for presents this time around. I remember when I was still working in an office when christmas season arrives we will have exchange gifts with fellow office employees . ut since the company I worked for decided to close the office permanently , its been years since I last saw my co workers and its been years too that I havent checked posdible gifts online. I always go for the bundles the store offers because its easier that way , it has a variety of items inside it.

I also have to find a Christmas gift for my brother's maid. She helps me with the household chores sometimes. I think I'll get her a nice hand cream or body wash.

We have a lady across the street that brings our dumpster back from the curb. This year we are giving her some of her favorite nuts -- cashews and pistachios. I buy them from GeorgeHowe.com. They are affordable and can be put into a gift basket. They have nuts and candies. We always order some candy for ourselves too.

Yeah, now we all around the world it's very easy to get anything we want. Good item for birthday, gift for Christmas, etc. We just have to be careful because we can't see and hold the things we want. We recommend that we look at the comments and recommendations of people who have bought it first.
