I'm a free-speech absolutist, further out than Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, and believe in complete artistic license, but I also like discretion. I'm watching this movie, and it's not like the woman is ugly, but it's basically soft-core pornography, and it goes on too long. I know exactly what the movie is going to do because I've seen this kinda thing so many times before. As I said yesterday, "They don't re-make em like they used to!" -- Tarantino certainly has. I would guess he loves Japanese and French movies from the 60s. Scorsese uses the same cinematography on "Taxi Driver" as this Fassbinder movie I can't remember (he made so many, despite dying at 39). I'm not saying we should go back to the 1940s where they would use a dissolve, but that's not a bad idea. Or show some nudity for a few seconds, and then fade out. Blow their minds instead. Show the ocean.. Something symbolic. Show a smile. I just remember when I was a young man, and so many would go to the theater because Halle Barry was topless in a movie. Or when I was even younger, it seemed like everyone older than me who to see Basic Instinct to see Sharon Stone

I agree, sometimes I just change the channel.

I tried to at first, so I read a little bit about the movie, and it's a constant lament. I just turned off the movie, because it's too distracting, and I either watch all of a movie, or as little as possible.

I never saw the two movies. Don't plan on it.
