I'm so glad that Jay enjoys cooking, at certain times. Thanksgiving, he always wants to bake two pies, one pumpkin and one pecan pie. Last year around this time, he baked two pumpkin and three pecan pies! No, we didn't have dinner guests to share these delicious treats with:( A diabetic wife, with five pies in the house? Yes, I broke down and suffered through finishing them off Of course, Jay did help to demolish those babies! He had several slices of pumpkin pie, along with a mountain of cool whip or vanilla ice cream. This year, it's only two pies, which I shouldn't eat anyway With Christmas right around the corner, I will resort to sugar-free applesauce for dessert I love it!

Pumpkin pie is my favorite kind of pie:) Pecan? I guess that probably comes in second or third.

@kobesbuddy I am here to serve. Actually, I don't have that much of a sweet tooth. But I m vulnerable to pecan pie.

Being delivered from the temptation towards a sugar overdose, Diabetics can be rather stupid, around the holidays!

I think that it is great that Jay is baking up a storm. I also think that its great that you will enjoy the sugar-free applesauce come the next holiday-I love that stuff.

Pecan pie! I put honey in mine instead of corn syrup. I haven't made one in years due to its uber richness. I did say that I would make one for Christmas this year though. I put cinnamon into applesauce when we make it but never sugar. Pumpkin pie? I've learned to soften dates and then use them for sugar in pumpkin pie.

Dates in pumpkin pie, that really sounds delicious! Jay's mother canned apple jelly with honey, it was really good:)

Vince gives into temptation pretty often but he manages to keep his sugar number to a level that keeps the doctor happy.

Stella Parks (aka Bravetart) has a pecan pie recipe that is so difficult that she refuses to publish it. She did email it to me, though, and one of these days I will attempt it. She calls it "murderously difficult". I've never had pecan pie before in my life but I feel the need to try to make Bravetart's pecan pie.
