Fear of Covid

Most countries have lifted the protocol that required everyone to wear masks, sanitize and maintain a distance since it is assumed the world is covid free. But I do not think that it is true as most do not report. We had some carpentry work done at our place and there were workers in our household. I did wear a mask but was not that careful as I was earlier The contractor I am now told has covid and is in hospital. I took the bill from his hands and did not sanitize my hands before taking it. I am now counting days as it takes a maximum of 14 days for anyone to get infected. Today is the 12th day and I am fit as a fiddle. Two more days to go if at all!!! Moral of the story Get back to protocol no matter what the authorities tell you. Most cases are not reported. Image credit: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Novel_Coronavirus_SARS-CoV-2.jpg

@allknowing That is a good idea since it is better to be safe than sorry.

You are so right, I always wear my mask, keep distance, sanitize my hands. It is no more mandatory, but the number of new cases is increasing and I do not want to get sick.

@LadyDuck It is disturbing that this is the only virus that mutates unlike small pox and such and they have been totally eradicated with vaccines.

@allknowing I have read yesterday about China, it is scary. The authorities said that it's a new mutation and the vaccine does very little to protect against this new one.

It's still going around, but very little of it. And most people are getting very mild disease.

What is disturbing are the mutations for which there are no vaccines.

There has been another spate of outbreaks in our village with about four households now being infected. We'll be taking what precautions we can.

What the authorities say is not always right We need to be more cautious I think.

@JudyEv No harm in following protocol. We are all used to it now.

@allknowing I think so too. And now the ship, Queen Elizabeth II, has berthed in Fremantle with 15% (around 200) of those on board testing positive. It wasn't supposed to call in here yet.

That's true. I still wear a mask whenever I go out. I sanitize whatever comes from outside.
