I was picked to go on a work trip yesterday. We, the stock crew, went to another store about an hour and a half away, got paid for the ride also, because they needed help getting stock out of the back. This stock was backed up a couple truck loads or more.
Seems they can't keep help, not only was our stores crew there but another store as well.
It was a mess. It took our crew seven hours to price and stock eight pallets.
I know why no one wants to work there, the manager is an a**, however, he was nice to our assistant manager but rude to the rest of us, rude is an understatement really. When he looked at me and said good luck as he passed the kitchen utensil isle I was working, I knew then I would show his smart a** how it's done. Fifteen minutes and it was perfect. I made sure to ask did he check it, he never said looks great or thanks, he said " it might stay that way a couple hours and look just like it did by closing. Noooo, that's not true, no one had worked that area in months.
Anyways, it was fun to do something different with the all women crew from work.

Sometimes there's no pleasing some people. I'm glad you did a good job. There are Help Wanted signs everywhere. I don't know if people don't want to work or what the deal is. Have a great evening.

Right! If he would tell the employees that they are doing a great job maybe they would stay.

Hard workers really can rock a catch up situation like this. You know you all did good or your would not have been asked to go rescue them.

That manager sounds like a real jerk. I'm sure your area looked perfect and that your crew did a good job

Sounds good...There is a Dollar General store South of here, I go into maybe once a year. The last time I was in there it was horrible. Stuff in the aisles, hardly anything on the shelves. Cardboard boxes everywhere. If the fire marshal saw that, they would shut them right down. The manager must have quit or something.

Managers like that don't last long. The home office will figure out they are the reason nobody will stay there and they'll fire him. And good riddance.

Manager is a vias person. I don't believe him when I was working at the bank. He pleased the management but not us.

You being chosen to go shows what a hard worker you are. They knew sending you would get the job done quicker and more thoroughly. That’s terrible the manager is such a jerk.
