My "Aunt" Just Died

Christine McVie dies (Fleetwood Mac) and then the movie expert from my movie site died, and now a family friend. I'm closer to her more than all my aunts combined, who I didn't get to know because of distance. 62 years old. I've known her since I was 8. She and her sisters worked with my parents for 25 years. Her niece asked to borrow money (before I knew about this). I texted her I was sorry. She didn't reply, and it bothered me, so I called her, and when she told me she was at the hospital, I said, "Sure" and she told me she'd have it by the 28th. On the 29th I texted her, and never got a response. My mom sent me an e-mail last night telling me she had passed. I have a feeling the niece is going to think .. "I won't see you again, so I'll never pay you back". If she used her aunt's sickness to make me sympathetic, it worked, but ..... seriously, there isn't a single person I'd want to come over anymore. My cousin has become a drunk, talking the q-anon playbook because he feels a part of something. And he's always talking about why the world is destroyed because of the world being brainwashed, and then I have to to remind him he's no different.
