Some more obscure interesting facts you probably never knew. I'm also sure you never gave any of these trivial facts any thought either. But like a good quote here is an obscure fact (at least to me) I found which you can spring on someone to impress them with your amazing knowledge of useless information. They say..."An apple a day keeps the doctor away." But there is one part of the apple that is not so healthy and should be avoided. Do you know what it is? BEWARE THE APPLE -We know from the Bible what trouble Adam and Eve got into from apple tasting. And we know Snow White's fate from taking a bite out of that delicious fruit. But did you know the one part of an apple that you should avoid? It's the SEEDS which contain cyanide! Cyanide is poisonous (even deadly in high doses), if chewed or swallowed so stick to the sunflower kind. "So, how do you like them apples?" Did I surprise you with that obscure fact or were you Apple-solutely sure you knew that one! Source Info- www.healthline.com & Best Life

I must admit I never knew the potential dangers. Not much of a seed chewer, but best to stick with something healthier like sunflower or sesame. Other Apple Facts: Did you know them? 1. Americans eat more apples per capita than any other fruit. 2. It takes about 36 apples to make one gallon of apple cider.

It was mom who told me the seeds were dangerous but then I thought who the heck would eat those things anyway, right?

#1 is new to me but mom grew 2 apple trees from seed and it took them 10 years to produce apples, the first crop was only 3 apples tween the 2.

You are right there! Wonder if you could make a poison potion from apple seeds? Other Apple Facts: Did you know them? 1. Archaeologists have found evidence that people have been eating apples since 6,500B.C. 2. Apple trees take at least four to five years to start producing fruit. Some take as many as 10 years.

Just like apricots. Don't mess with the pits. You could grind up the apple seeds and put them in pudding and say you'd just put in some ground sunflower seeds- if you hated somebody.

@dgobucks226 I didn't know the first fact but I did know they can take some years before they fruit. Quite a lot of fruit trees are like that but perhaps not quite so tardy.

Not that I would eat the seeds of an apple, but if I did eat seeds a safer and healthier choice would be pumpkin, sunflower or sesame. Other Apple Facts: Did you know them? 1. Archaeologists have found evidence that people have been eating apples since 6,500B.C. 2. Apple trees take at least four to five years to start producing fruit. Some take as many as 10 years.

Funny you should mention the red delicious which was #1 favorite until just recently when it was replaced by the Gala, one I really like! Peanut butter on an apple is an excellent idea for a snack Other Apple Facts: Did you know them? 1. Top producing apple counties in the world are China, United States, Turkey, Poland, and Italy. 2. Apple juice was one of the earliest prescribed antidepressants.

Ha, ha! Thank goodness. If one did want to chew seeds a safer and healthier choice would be pumpkin, sunflower or sesame. Other Apple Facts: Did you know them? 1. If you’ve ever wondered why apples float it’s because they’re 25 percent air, which makes bobbing for them much easier, lol. 2. One of George Washington’s hobbies was pruning his apple trees.

I love apples and do not have to worry about eating the seeds. I cut them up and remove the seeds and put peanut butter on them.

I would suspect you'd have to eat a lot of seeds to kill you. Even broccoli is a poisonous plant, but you'd have to eat a crap ton of it for it to have any negative effect.
