Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

The last few days have been very stressful. Worried about my cousin. She was finally discharged home this afternoon. Thank you to those who asked about her. It means a lot. So.. I baked a batch of walnut chocolate chip cookies today. Felt like I needed a treat. And oh my were they delicious. Had two cookies as they came out of the oven. I sometimes use pecans but I had plenty of walnut in the pantry and they are also a favorite. Then I put them in a sealed container so I wouldn't eat too many. I will probably take some over to my neighbor tomorrow. Almost dark now. I have not baked cookies in awhile. Forgot just how good they were. Especially fresh out of the oven. The rain will start back again here later and go through the night. Have a good evening everyone. Photo is mine.

Do you add English walnuts or black walnuts to your cookies? While I was still on the farm, I didn't know there was a difference. Mom always used black walnuts in the cooking. (I really don't like nuts in cookies or cake so there were a lot of times I just didn't want any. Then we figured out it was the black walnuts I don't like in cookies or cake. Mom stopped using them.) I do eat pecans in cookies or cake, though. YUM! It's been on and off sprinkling here today. We're supposed to have storms going through here tomorrow and the next day. Not looking forward to driving in that. Enjoy your evening/night.

@CarolDM Yeah, I remember us talking about it. I have a bag of pecans in my bedroom closet for snacks. Thanks.

I wasn't even sure, had to check the bag. They are English walnuts. I just eat them as a snack as well. Very healthy, as we have talked before. We are having rain all week here, off and on until Friday. Stay safe. Thanks and the same to you.

The big and soft chocolate chip cookie recipe that I use calls for walnuts, and I love them in those cookies. I made a big double batch yesterday. I got all of the dry ingredients measured out on my last break from work and then when I finished I just had to beat the eggs and put together the wet portion of the recipe.

Oh wow, we were close to the same page again. I keep walnuts and I had extra thank goodness. They are often hard to find. I will think about you when I eat my next one.
