Oh boy. The beers that Milwaukee was famous for. Schlitz was a biggie of course. There was Pabst Blue Ribbon. That was a good one. And who can forget the Champagne of Beers, Miller High Life?
Miller Lite is still the end all to be all of Milwaukee beers, and it is what I drink mostly now these days.
Old Style is made in Wisconsin now. Although in La Crosse these days. Hamms is still made. So is Red Dog.All Milwaukee natives.
But a beer still lives and breathes in Milwaukee. Blatz. And even though it would never win any gold medals, it is still good beer. I like it. It is what my Uncle Ron and my grandfather used to drink back in the day.
You can only get it in Milwaukee or other parts of Wisconsin for all I know. And every time I go there on business, I bring some home.
Because I like it.
Have you ever had a Blatz? If so, what do you think of it?
I remember as a kid visiting with Grandma and Grandpa and going to Dino's on Forest Home Avenue, and getting to toss the returnable bottles box down the chute, and every time we went there they would give me a pretzel stick.
Ah, the memories. And while I did not drink it back then, I drink it now, and rather enjoy it.

Ah, that is a sweet memory Jim.
Yes I have heard of Blatz too.
My step grandfather used drink Falstaff.
And I would sneak it too out of the fridge when I was a kid
Never had a Blatz though to drink.
