Fad or Fashion?

As you know, I am constantly on the lookout for items of fad or fashion on the internet; and I bring them to you from time to time.
Today's entry is a weird and macabre bit of "fashion sense". Apparently there is a trend happening in which people are taking the teeth of their deceased loved ones and making necklaces and rings with them.
Ladies and gentlemen of MyLot, what say you of this strange and a bit gross "fashion trend"?

I noticed you made a point of giving the photo credit to Facebook. Are you sure those aren't your Grandma's teeth? OK, the truth is, that's just creepy to me. I remember my father dearly. He was even in my dreams last night (I'm on my first cup of coffee). But I don't want to wear his tooth around my neck. For your scrutiny, I submit a Lyle Lovett song. Lyle has a slightly sick sense of humor, so I resonate with him. @FourWalls might understand. Let me go find it.

Yeah, but Lyle’s a nice guy when you meet him.

@FourWalls I bet he is. He took my tooth of gold without killing me. Actually, I've never met him.

To each his own, but this isn't something I'd want to do. It definitely doesn't make attractive jewelry!
I wonder if they're all real, or if some are resin teeth?

@TheHorse There are definitely a lot of negative connotations about using other people's teeth for one's own purposes.

In other countries and cultures it may be acceptable; but I don't see it as that here.

@lindaOHio My aunt is now a set of 6 commemorative ceramic mugs out of which I refuse to drink. My late aunt that is!

@LindaOHio That’s exactly it. So disrespectful. I couldn’t help wondering which bit of the mugs was her butt.

No thanks. I have a baby tooth from each of the boys. But would not do that with those even.
