Good News

At this time of year, we'll take whatever good news we can get, right? Well, I have good news. I had a hearing test this morning because I was concerned that my hearing was less than it was before. It's not. I had a huge wax buildup in both ears that cut my hearing down.
And for the good and so-so news. I need to replace my left hearing aid. The so-so news is that it could cost $300 out of pocket. I don't have that kind of change. When I talked to them, they said the hearing aids came through my insurance, and it's my insurance that would charge the out-of-pocket. However, I have Medicaid too. They're going to put this through Medicaid. If Medicaid accepts it, I won't owe anything.
So, now I pray that Medicaid accepts the replacement. I'll have my new hearing aid in about two weeks. In the meantime, she told me to continue to wear the other one because I need it too.
I also called my pastor. He told me just now, that if I do need to pay out of pocket, the church will help. So, it's all good news.
Are you facing a potentially costly situation at the end of the year? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I'm glad you had the hearing test and you haven't lost more of your hearing. I hope Medicaid pays for the new hearing aid.

@just4him You're welcome. I had the same problem several years ago. I was happy knowing it wasn't something actually wrong with my hearing once the wax was cleaned out.
Good luck!

Prices are going up on everything. I think I might have ear wax buildup in my ears too. I haven't been to a ear doctor ever. Guess it is about time.

Unfortunately at my place, the news wasn't so nice. My brother got infected with Covid first, then mom second today. I just and really hope dad doesn't because I don't know who's going to buy groceries for them. I am not in the house as I have returned to the campus. But I tell them, if all of them are infected, I am wiling to go home and stay in the hotel while buying groceries and medicine and any necessities needed.

@just4him Thank you! That's what I am hoping for as well! If he got infected, I guess I have to go home and help them. But I cannot stay in the house as it becomes the quarantine place for them as of now. I may need to stay in the hotel and just drop the groceries in front of the house. I don't know the rules of the pandemic right now as some places have transitioned from pandemic to endemic.

Not at the moment no...Thankfully. I will say a prayer that the church can help with the hearing aid cost if need be.

The Church is quite helpful in offering funds for the hearing aids. That might not be the scenario everywhere.
I just hope that your Medicaid accepts it.
So were you also able to get the wax cleared?
Have a nice Friday ahead!

I will pray Medicaid will help pay for your new hearing aid. It is wonderful that your church will help you if Medicaid doesn't.
I thought we were going to have a costly expense when I went to our basement to see if I could find a tool for Mike. Opened the door and the basement had water all over. With all the heavy rains we have had lately it just hasn't had time to drain out. Been a long time since we last had that much water in it. We were afraid one of our pipes had busted. Praise the Lord, none have.

I'm happy your hearing is ok, and that there's still a chance that you won't have to pay. Also I'm happy your church community will help. I had to have a few small things fixed on my car, and it came to about half of what I thought it would be. Wheew!
