I Moved to a New Place

I¨ve been moving very often. I kept moving to the country and to the city; six months in the country then back to the city. Last year, I moved definitely to the city. After 8 months in the city, I moved to a little town close to the city; stayed there for three months. Then, I moved back to the city: I found a little apt. After three months there, I moved to another place; cheaper and nice. How often do you move from a place to another place?

My relatives and myself have had to move from one house to another due to ownership of one residences taking one of our former homes due to a change of owners and then two years later having to move to another neighborhood due to the previous home needing repairs due to hurricane damage in March of this year. Usually a movement happens at least one every two years due to the owners of the rental property wanting to upgrade the house.

In my case, It has been almost similar to yours. Since I remember, my parents had always been moving from one place to another. So often that I cannot count how many times we had moved when I was little and living with my parents,. In the present, I sense this as part of my lifestyle. Sometimes I wish I could stay in one place but then I sense That I have gotten used to this lifestyle of mine

I had a house two years ago then I sold it. Now, think I will live just renting and doing little jobs on and offline: I think, That´s the trend these modern days

@quantum2020 My husband built houses so I got used to move to houses we owned before they were finished. Many times we decided that we could buy a lot and build another houses when we had finished the one where we were living.

@marguicha That´s interesting. You must have lived in many houses and all of them are brand new. I would have liked to start a business similar to what you and your husband did. I know a little about construction

I remember my parents owning a house when I was around 5 0r 6 years old. Then, they had to sell that house, and ever since; I remember just paying rent and moving from one house or apt to another house or apt. I have gotten used to it

That´s good. I wish I could stay in one place for a long time but the circumstances force me to move from one place to another

Your post made me think of a family friend. I asked him why his girlfriends were so different every time. His answer was: ah, I fluctuated between a fashion model type and a laid-back type, it was like 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 . He ended up running away from a number #2 type, and married a fashion model type (a wannabe actress like him), then after several years after their marriage broke down 2 decades ago, he returned to his #2 type. Intersting heh!

@YrNemo One learns a lot, especially to adapt socially. The neighborhood in which I live presently is middle class and different from the one I lived before. everytime I move I find something interesting. That´s stimulating

That´s interesting. Fluctuating on two extremes. An analogy here too. I´m like fluctuating socially, sometimes on neighborhoods that are considered high and other times on others that are considered low

How does frequent moving affect your job? Do you keep changing jobs, too?

It doesn´t affect my job. I have learned to do many things. I play music and do jobs online. I also teach English and French to students that require my services. Whenever I move, I offer my services

That's cool. It seems you can settle down easily. Moving is a big issue for us. I live in my city since I was born and I just moved twice but it is still in my city.

It seems like. I just moved to a new place this morning. I feel like I belong here. One of my writings when I was little at school was a story about my parents, me and my brothers moving to different places and the teacher was amazed by my story.

That´s good. Staying at the same house for many years is beneficial. It allows one to grow real state investment, which is positive. I sold what was going to be my home one and a half years ago

I sold last year the only property I ever owned myself. The property I owned was far from everything. If I needed something like groceries, I had to travel 30 or more minutes to buy them. That´s why I sold it. Now I find everything I need more easily near to the place I´m renting

You seem to be living a nomadic existence. That is quite a number of moving around. I bought a house over ten years ago and am still there. No plans to move as housing prices are very expensive where I live in New Jersey. Do you enjoy moving around from city to country?

Ar the moment. i do, I find it exciting. Some years ago, I was of those thinking that remaining stable in one place was ideal. In the present, I´ve notice that when I move, I get micro jobs on the internet. I think there are many people like me that rely on remote work and are constantly moving
