Experts believe that the longer the Ukraine, Russia war lasts, the greater the opportunity for those countries : " To bring the world's first fully autonomous fighting robots to the battlefield, inaugurating a new stage of warfare." Read all about it in the link below. What would this mean for countries that engage in battle? Some may have the technology and others might not. We have just entered 2023. The war really needs to end soon. And we (US) need to stop funding it.

Unless we say enough is enough, war is not good for anyone.

It'd be frightening to have autonomous fighting robots - no conscience, just doing as ordered - until an error occurs . And if they succeed, then what - it all still comes down to what happens to people in the end.

@Kandae11 Right. The robots can go at each other, but what happens after one side is finished. Then we go back to fighting the/with people anyway. Does all this killing really solve anything?

A very scary thought. Would a robot know the difference between a woman, a child , a baby? or even care. They are simply killing machines.

@much2say It does not. Perhaps it is just the nature of man - who has been fighting since the beginning of time.

It's kind of terrifying that this will happen because the people who will be affected by all of these events are civilians. Given that they lack guilt and are programmed to kill anyone they perceive as a threat, these robot soldiers may have been designed to be ruthless.

@Kandae11 That is a depressing fact. That, in my opinion, is what historically kept the US economy afloat during the World Wars. Those nations who were able to create and sell weapons received a sizable portion of the proceeds.:(

Building more and more arms benefits some countries financially, l really don't see an end to it.

Lets just say machines would know nothing about mercy or what having mercy means.

Worrying is useless. I take it one day at a time. I never thought about robots in war, but it doesn't surprise me with all the technological advancements we've made.

This would mean that those who have more money will win the wars. Horrible, we will see a couple of countries dominating the world. I hope I will be no more when this happens.

I hate to say it, but l believe that the future will see the biggest arms race. Some countries actually benefit from producing arms and sophisticated weaponry.

That would end really poorly for the side that wouldn't have access to that sort of tech. Otherwise, if everyone had battlebots it would eliminate the need for humans fighting, interesting concept
