Blocked up ear is horrible !

SO Christmas was coming up and my left ear was whining like a baby and the TV volume going up as my hearing went down in it . I had enough of it after doing all the cooking on Christmas and Boxing Day and decided to go online to see what to do about it. I presumed it was earwax build up. Internet man said buy Olive oil and dropper from the chemist and drip it in twice or so times a day. I did . This blocked my ear up completely. Next day hearing came back briefly so put more in to kill the whine. It blocked up again and this time didn't unblock the next day. So I bought a product called Earex from the chemist to soften the earwax up inside proper and now, hopefully, unblock it and kill the wine. My ear now sounded like the TV on Poltergeist all day long - hissing , humming and howling all day and night. This is not pleasant in any way. After 5 days of using the product I was getting worried that it may be worse than just a blocked ear. I bought an ear bulb rom Amazon to try that, a cheap rubber balloon shape thing you push water into your inner ear and then suck out the debris the Earex had loosened up with it. It said 3-5 days of the product should clear the ear. Day six and my ear was still bunged and raging like a LW radio looking for a channel , whistles, static, hums and hisses. Its horrible. Our NHS no longer includes ear stringing as a free service so was looking to have pay $100 for that. You need to do two whole weeks of drops to soften the wax before they would syringe it. Another week of that bung would have been unbearable but this morning I stuck my finger in , wiggled it around, and it finally cleared. I got down on my knees and thanked the Lord for that. What a relief!! 7 days of it being blocked mean still some whining and humming as it gets used to not much wax in there and the return of sound to process again but I am much happier . I'm not someone bothered by tinnitus that most of us suffer and my brain will soon filter it out. My advice is dont use olive oil if you ear is bunged or near blocked. Go for the non-prescription chemist products instead. Be patient, They will work after 5 days and rejoice when your ear finally clears. If you have tinnitus or waxy ears then I'm sure olive oil serves a purpose but i you are losing hearing in one ear and you are not a retiree go straight for the non oil based Earex/ Otex style product from day one so not to have to endure the deadly bung up for too long.
