Writing in the Next Year

After one of @TheHorse's most recent posts about writing his book, I started thinking about my own writing. I have had a penchant for writing for as long as I can remember. Back in the '80s, I was a member of a Science Fiction Writer's newsletter. I had people sending me their manuscripts and I would read them and give them critiques. I even had one writer send his manuscript to a professional and this person got pretty much the same critique. I found that interesting. In the 90s I started a novel about a young woman with all kinds of powers. Several other short stories came to mind and, I did some outlines. In the early 2000's I wrote articles on several different topics. I wrote about horses, smoking, home renovation, technology, motorcycles, vegan recipes, crafts, and alpacas. It was fun and I made pretty good money. Then they started slowing down and stopped publishing. I haven't done any writing since. I have been reading through some old writing tonight and may take up some writing again, at least for a while. Do any of you have crafts or other interests that you may take up again in the new year?

I worked on a huge macrame wall hanging and not really going to start anything else soon. Maybe begin to record my journey with the house sell and becoming a nomad.

That sounds like a lot of work. Becoming a nomad sounds like quite an adventure.

I have been writing since junior high; but have been writing more seriously since 2010. Most of the sites that I wrote on have closed down unfortunately. I am still trying to get a children's picture book published that I wrote in rhyme. Good luck with your writing. There are still some places to write and earn.

When I was younger I always loved writing but never was very good at creating characters and a storyline for a book. I do love to read and admire anyone who can write a book. Hope you take up your writing again. I love to crochet and always have a project going.

I hope you work on a book. The one about superpowers sounds interesting. I'm working on two to publish this year and hoping to finish the one I wanted to finish last year. It's this close to being finished.

@celticeagle Yes. I know how it ends. It's getting from where I'm at to the end. I need to connect the dots.

Very interesting. That sounds great. Me, I love cooking, and getting ready to start it pretty quick. I am gathering recipes from all the books I've collected over the years. I decided to do what makes me joyous.
