Tuesday was a better day

My sister started doing better on Tuesday, and I got to go see her.
Better yet, she had her eyes open to see me, and her daughter.
The repaired bowel is doing okay. It is working.
She is breathing on her own with support. The respiratory therapist came in and explained how that was working.. From about eleven yesterday morning she was in support mode. Before that the ventilator was doing all the breathing. During the day yesterday the ventilator was there, but she had to inhale herself. When she inhaled the ventilator pushed air for her so she would not have to work so hard.
Still getting liquid nutrition, nothing by mouth, only by tubes.
I took her CD player in and some CDs for staff to have playing for her. It was just too quiet in that room. My sister always has television or something on at home.

I'm glad your sister is doing so much better! Hopefully, she'll be out of the hospital and back home quickly.
