The Cochi Port has been converted into SEZ.

Cochi Port in the state of Kerala is a major port in India. It is a lovely port. By converting it into a Special Economic Zone more export can occur and additional economic activity. As ports are the gateways of sending IT materials, other hardware by the water front more economic activity will lead to more export.

Indeed SEZ s have bought in more development to many places in India.
