Watch With Me.

Do you and your spouse or significant other enjoy the same recreational activities? I know most men enjoy watching sports and some women Soaps. In many cases though , it is the other way around - men Soaps (soap operas ) and women sports.. I have a friend whose husband was addicted to soaps , while she loved basketball. I also read about a famous actor who while on location filming a movie would take time out at a certain hour of the day to watch his favorite soap in his trailer. With husband and wife, the ideal situation would be if both shared similar tastes. I personally would enjoy a movie or a sporting event on television much more if l had someone to watch with me. What about you?- do you enjoy watching shows together or will you watch something simply to please him or her? Of course there are other ways to spend quality time together - like board games, cards, exercising , cooking or simply enjoying each other's silence. What is one of your best ways of spending quality time ? Pixabay image.

I dislike sports, especially organized sports. When I was younger, I rode my bike all over the countryside in my part of the US. My first wife also enjoyed riding a bike. (When Pretty was born, we installed a baby seat on the back of my bike and she rode along with us. She usually fell asleep within a few hundred feet and didn't wake up until I started unbuckling her. ) We also played a lot of cards together and, sometimes enjoyed the same television shows/movies. My second wife also liked playing cards and we often threw card parties. I made snacks of all kinds and we set up two tables in the living room for two groups of people to play Rummy or Gin Rummy. The winners of one table would join the winners of the other table to see who were the champions that week. We had a lot of fun doing that. She also enjoyed quietly reading her book beside me as I read my own book. We watched movies together and I cooked while she sat at the kitchen table and visited, keeping me company as I prepared meals.

@Kandae11 We loved it and some of the friends brought their kids to play in Pretty's room while the adults were having fun, too.

My father in law loved watching Day of Our Lives and rarely missed an episode whereas my mother in law didn't watch it at all. I'm a big fan of General Hospital and have been watching for more years than I want to admit. My daughter and I enjoy many of the same types of show and movies so in the evening we watch together after dinner. I have shows she isn't interested in so I watch them during the day when she's working.

We both hate sport and we both do not care at all about soaps. We like to watch movies together and we also have the same taste about movies. Our favorite are crime movies, adventure, mystery. Some old series like Sherlock Holmes and Ghat Christie, particularly Hercule Poirot.

That is great having similar tastes in movies. It is so much more fun watching together. Sharing ideas and thoughts and probably a bowl of popcorn or other snacks.

@Kandae11 - We like to discuss the plot after, find what was wrong and made no sense in the movie. We usually have a slice of cake while we watch the movie. We eat our dessert while watching.

We watch TV together and only have it on about two hours each night. She does not like soaps and I only watch sports when the Olympics are on and very little of that. We watch a lot of British and Australian crime series and some movies. During the day she sews a lot and I read and write.

I’ve learned to love sports thanks to all the men in my family. Luckily, hubs and I enjoy doing most things together, but we have no problem following our own interests - him antiquing, me pickle ball. We spend quality time every evening whether at home or out with friends or family.

@Kandae11 Mostly light comedy; sometimes a thriller or suspense. No sci-fi or fantasy. How about you?

@JudyEv Recently l have been watching a lot of Lifetime movies which deal with family relationships. Once upon a time l liked Bruce Lee and kung Fu movies. I still watch a few action movies - those with not too much violence.
