So, I am trying to keep up on this story of Joe Biden having these top-secret documents at his home and who knows where else. I really confused about it though, cause my understanding is it’s a federal offense for anyone but the president to take files and documents home? I am also understanding he took some or all of these when he was the Vice-president. So, he committed a federal offense? When it was President Trump who had files or documents the Democraps wanted to hang him and it was okay to raid his property, and there was no need for witnesses. Now that it is Biden, they have a million and one excuses why we don’t need to have a trial and we don’t need to raid his property or even have a trial. It was a simple mistake and there is no need for witnesses. It was a mistake…well correct me if I am wrong but if you mistakenly break the law, you still have broken the law. If you mistakenly kill someone there is still a trial and they call witnesses to try to prove you were not at fault. If you mistakenly steal something or go into the wrong house is there not still witnesses or a trail to see if you broke the law? They are singing quite the different tune now that it is Biden and not President Trump. What they have spent 6 years now chasing after President Trump for everything and anything they can think of but in less then what a week they have no interest into looking into Biden and all the illegal crap that is floating around him.

What's good for one is good for the other, as I see it.

If Trump committed a crime keeping those documents, Biden also committed a crime, I see no difference.

Well the only difference is that Biden was vice president when he took those documents and that makes it even worse as I understand it.

@Bensen32 This is exactly what I thought, he was not even the President. They have found more inside his home.

@LadyDuck Yeah sounds like they have found quite a bit. Now let's see if they actually do anything about it.

A president can remove documents and has to declassify any classified document essentially with the stroke of a pen. And Trump claimed, of course, that he declassified those documents before he removed them. Biden, on the other hand, as Vice-President had no such authority to either remove documents OR declassify them. So, it seems problematic that he has them at all, and even though he is president now, he cannot declassify classified documents removed prior to his taking the oath. So THAT is problematic as well. Whether or not he committed a federal offense is what is up for debate, and up to now I don't think anyone has been clear about the legalities or illegalities of the documents nor the act of removing them or improperly storing them. But of course, the president is in charge of the Justice Department, and so...while the department works somewhat independent of the president (he is supposed to follow the law regardless of the direction of the president), they still tend to follow what the president says, and if the president says "make this go away," depending on how severe law enforcement officials in particular agencies find the potential offense to be they follow that or not. But we do have to keep in mind the government operates weirdly these days, and what's right is pretty much tossed out the window. So, who knows what comes of it? They COULD, and maybe should, open up a special counsel. But who knows if they will. Congress could open investigations as well, and maybe they will. I still say, though, that the 800 pound gorilla in the room is the laptop. THAT'S the biggie, I think. But you are absolutely right. A mistake that breaks the law is still breaking the law. It may reduce the charge or reduce the sentence, but it does not override the law. But you are also right that the tune with Biden is very much different than the tune with Trump, and it is something, as well, that I hope the American people are paying attention to. Because regardless of what any of our political leanings happen to be, IT MATTERS.

Yeah, they have run around on this laptop forever now which just makes me believe there is a lot to hide on there and would be bringing some people down for it. Then again just like the Epstein deal, how is it someone goes to prison, and no witness are called on that one. You know some powerful people were in volved in that and oddly enough we don't need to know who? We may never know about the laptop or the documents and more than likely nothing will happen to any of them because we seem to give these people too much power to hide the wrongdoing they have done.

@Bensen32 I have long said, things that remain a mystery are often very telling that there is something to find, which is why it is kept hidden from view and examination.

They are always singing a different tune when the roles are reversed, no matter the crime as you know. Nothing will be done. No homes will be invaded by the SWAT team. No headlines about bad Biden. But we knew that. Maybe he will eventually just go home.

@Bensen32 Not surprised in the least. And this entire classified document issue is a deterrent. Follow the money. Hunter is involved.

@CarolDM Yeah, I often wonder when something like this comes up, what else is going on that we are not hearing about, and this is covering something even worse.
