She Child's Snack Time 1.20.2023

While I was at DT, I picked up a Hershey bar for she child. It's Friday, she deserves a little treat. LOL.
But she also got a plate of sesame chicken and pork fried rice from the Chinese place. You should of seen her face when I gave it to her when she got home from school about fifteen minutes ago.
She used to only eat the sweet and sour chicken, but a couple weeks ago I asked her to try the sesame chicken and she decided that she liked it too. I am all about getting her to at least try what we are eating. Her brother is kind of picky, and I don't want her to be picky. I was raised to at least try it before saying she doesn't like it, and so that's how we are raising her.

I'm glad she is happy with her food. My Mom always put broccoli on my plate even though I hated it. She said, "one day I hope you try it and like it". I never thought I would try it, but one day I thought "why not try it" and surprisingly I liked it. I eat it a lot now.

She will eat it if I make her, but she likes corn, and mixed veggies. So she's pretty good about veggies. She doesn't like cooked carrots very often

She's a sweetie. When she wants to be.
We just gave her a cell phone. We tried a couple times before to give her her own cell phone and she hasn't been responisble with it, so we are trying again. So she's in a pretty good mood.

@thislittlepennyearns I am not one bit up on kids these days. Totally foreign to me that a kid has a phone. I am getting to be an old lady and I only have a flip phone.

@sallypup It's really just so she doens't use mine all the time It has the cheapest plan available on it. We are going to try to let her take it to school Monday and see how she does.

That's how we do it around here. She's tried a lot of things she said she didn't like and then it turned out she liked it.

I think it's a good idea to at least try to insist a child tries something before outright refusing it.

I have drilled into her, that she can't say that she doesn't like something until she actually tries it and knows she doesn't like it.
