I knew Monday would be another day of the power struggle but I was bound and determined to deal with it through the appropriate chain of command. I did.
The truck was huge, the entire semi was for this store only, for the most part it went smoothly. However, the freight manager was taking advantage of the two new people running the truck with us regulars. There were six women and two men. Two of the women usually work on the register but we're pulled to help with this huge truck of stock. The manager, a woman, divided the pricing and stocking, four in the back four of us stocking. He was telling them to price and load only for what he was assigned to stock, leaving me with pricing and stocking.. this didn't go well. He had them on the floor stocking and I told them to stop the freight manager was taking advantage of them. They price only. To make this a short, he was seen how he has become.
Weeks ago I had a meeting with the manager and I was giving the option to take on another department or keep mine. I said I wanted the flooring/ hardware/ sporting goods and my coworker could have housewares. So finally I got what I wanted in the first place and my coworker is now the supervisor of housewares, this week I'll show him how to do it, next truck it's all his. I can tell you he was so happy to be full time with a raise. The manager did say that I ran my department perfectly and it always looked great and for him to follow how I have it set and to see how I have fresh ideas to move piled up stock.
Now how will the freight manager deal with this?
We'll see.
About to put in another 9-10 hour day. Y'all have a wonderful day, I know I will.

Your job sounds like it's a busy day every day as well as a very long one. It also sounds like you get a good workout unloading all those trucks
