Good news

Today was the day to go with my daughter to the ophthalmologist. Her myopia has been increasing every year, she already has 6 diopters in her left eye and 5.50 diopters in her right eye.
Last year the doctor prescribed some drops (a new medicine to stop myopia) to put in her eyes every day.
The results couldn't have been better, myopia has stabilized, and it's exactly the same as last year. Drops are expensive, but the investment was worth it. She will continue to apply the drops for another year and then we will return to the consultation.
Needless to say that we are very happy
Do you wear glasses?

I thankfully still have perfect vision at 39. My oldest daughter has her fathers terrible vision. The baby has a condition her father has so we will have to watch her for signs of glaucoma at a very early age.
I had no idea there is drops to cause myopia not to get worse. My husband is supposed to take drops daily for the glaucoma but he doesn’t. They are $100 for a tiny bottle.

This is indeed good news.
Hopefully, she continues her recovery.
I need to wear glasses and have my pair but I hardly use it.

@nela13 I'm just not used to it. I might get a new pair and hopefully, it is something I start to get used to wearing.

Is myopia curable, or can you only treat it to keep it from getting worse?
I'm sorry this has been happening to her eyes, but happy to hear the eye drops have seem to stabilize the situation.

That's good news. i hope she's totally cured of it. I wear glasses but I don't wear it all the time because it gets blurry when I put my mask on.
