How do you cope with this financial crisis?

Yesterday I bought a probiotic from US. It costs half of my disability allowance. My mom insisted to buy it. I have severe problems with food. I can't eat lots of food. I took a different probiotic and it helped a lot. It was much cheaper, but I need more than that. My disability is $86. I had to receive another disability allowance and they refused to give me an answer. I couldn't travel to another town for hours. I can't cope with this financial crisis. Probiotics are too expensive, vitamins are expensive. How do you cope with this financial crisis?

We cut on expenses that are not essential and try to have other sources of income.

Preserving capital and making more money, especially on capital already earned, is a key to having a comfortable and successful financial life. Good job. I like it. I write extensively about money matters, but no one listens. lol Everybody is always looking for some secret. There isn't one. The answer is simple. Make as much as you can. Spend as little as you can. Save and invest as much as you can. Live off the proceeds and dividends and interest of what you have saved and invested and already earned. No rocket science required, and no magic either.

@florelway Yes. Precisely. And of course, find ways to make your MONEY work for you, not the other way around.

@porwest Just like the mantra in production, reduce cost maximize production. So in daily life spend.more time earning than spending.

It is always difficult to cope. I am going through once myself and I have had to sit to think what is more important and what isnĀ“t. Health goes in first place of course. I, too, discovered after I left thee hospital that I must take probiotics for some time and that they were very expensive. The next thing though was to check my grocery list and elimitate for some time every luxury item. I have known for a long time that I can eat as well with food more expensive or food that is cheaper.

I just take one day at a time. Everything is expensive not only for you for everyone. Not easy on anyone.

It's true. This is why I asked. Maybe other people can cope with this crisis better. Do you think that prices will be normal again? I am worried because the prices seem to go up and they never stop.

@dya80dya I thought when gas prices started to go down, it would get better no such luck. Perhaps one day.

@popciclecold That's because market pricing is largely forward looking, and because there are no foreseeable changes to the Biden energy policy which caused the spike in oil prices, there is no reason to forward project energy prices will see any relief...therefore the cost of energy continues to be baked into the price of everything we buy. On top of that, the economic policy of the Biden administration has done little to nothing to address or even acknowledge that we have this massive inflation. Biden keeps telling us how great the economy is while layoffs are picking up pace, prices continue to rise, energy bills go through the roof, and gas prices remain high. So long as there is this disconnect, things cannot improve.

I am sorry that your disability allowance is so low. It is difficult for everyone nowadays.
