Dogs Don't Understand Weekends

Pee O'clock comes at the same time for the dogs 7 days a week. The idea that we humans prefer to sleep late on a Saturday morning is inconceivable to them. (And, yes, that word means what I think it means ). So, I've been up since about 5:30am EST. I let the dogs out, fed them, played with Sophie a while, and am now sitting, watching dawn break, sipping coughee, and myLotting. My plan for today is to do some writing and editing. My plan for today will probably not survive. I am sure it is doomed to be tossed into the pit where all husbands' plans go once their wives wake up and inform said husbands of what the real plan of the day is. "Haven't you had time to write this morning?" you may ask. Yes and no. In between taking care of the dogs and the cat, I've been able to author this post in several installments. Keeping Sophie occupied and quiet enough for K to sleep in is a full-time endeavor. How is your day shaping up?

Not only do cats not have a sense of what a weekend is, they think they run the place and you have follow their instructions!

As I saw on a poster once, "Dogs have masters. Cats have staff."

I never give my husband any plans except on holidays. He’s out hunting this morning and afternoon. Is Sophie your only pet? My husbands lab woke me up this morning too

Weekends is a foreign concept to pets. Trudging through the day so far. Hope it is a quiet one for me.

I’m awake. That’s a start. I might get out of bed in a while. Freckles was usually very good about sleeping through the night without pee o’clock. In fact, I would have to get up occasionally…and find her on my pillow when I got back from the bathroom. “Wanna go out?” She was already back to sleep.

They get into a habit and stick to it. When you retire you can slowly get them adjusted to new times

The joys of pet ownership Busy day here. It’s my younger son’s birthday and grateful to be back in CT for the celebration. Hope you get some writing time today.

I've been up a little longer than you as my bladder wake-up is around 2 AM. I did convince myself to sleep in. I got up at 3:30. Since I live alone, my day will be writing. I'm not doing chores or anything else that hints at said chores other than making myself something to eat at the appropriate times. When my stomach makes demands. My breakfast is finished so I can sit here until my brain stops working on whatever book I'm working on. I have two I'm getting ready to publish this year. Have a great day and I hope you can get some serious writing done. Your readership demands it.

Sophie sounds a bit of a handful. I hope you don't have to change all your plans.
