Frugal Living: My favorite snack

One of my favorite snacks is healthy and very economical. It becomes less healthy and more costly when you start putting butter and seasonings all over it.
I like to make mine in corn oil or olive oil, and sprinkle it with just a touch of salt.
Of course, I'm talking about popcorn!
Do you like popcorn? If not, what is your favorite snack?
Photo is my own.

QVC(shopping network) has a company on there that makes a delightful-sounding popcorn I would like to try. The Kernal has been modified so it isn't as big. It sounds so good. I just never have the money when it comes up for sales.

I love popcorn because it's another snack that my kids can make on their own
. We have one of those air poppers . . . we add a touch of melted butter in the end but I'm fine with it plain. I don't know if I have a favorite snack . . . I will eat a lot of things
.

I always make mine atop the stove. I never cared much for microwave style.
I like a lot of things, too, for snack. ROFLMAO I just like to eat!

@TheSojourner We don't like those microwave bag things either. It's high in chemicals, msg, and whatever else that's in there - no thanks.
Seriously, I like to eat too - one could say it's a passionate hobby o' mine
.

@wolfgirl569 I had somebody giving me butter on my toast in mexico, and that's what they were calling it was butter. In fact, it was margarine. I know the difference! LOL

@TheSojourner No they don't pop up. They are already puffed. We just have to fry them in oil and ghee.

I have! The last time I used it, though I was a little too liberal in the sprinkling!

I like popcorn but it sure doesn’t like me (IBS). I like fiber brownies…one point, very tasty, and keeps me regular. I also love grapes for a snack!

Have you ever frozen your grapes? It's one of my favorites.

@FourWalls I prefer the red seedless, but the green will do. I wash them, pluck them from the stems and then dry them off and put them in the baggies/containers. Once frozen, they are like little balls of sherbet. LOVE them.
I had a bunch of them I had frozen this past summer, so they were getting a bit "gummy." I put them in the blender with a couple of frozen strawberries, and some full fat cream (just a little). Was great softserve, and RGD loved it. No added sugar.

@TheSojourner - I never had the habit to snack, some say that 5 meals is better than 3. I think it's a matter of habits. Five should be fine if you cut the quantity of the other three.

I love popcorn, but I also love it in the less healthy way.
I also like it with nutritional yeast and curry powder.

I like kettle corn. I haven't had any in years. I don't keep snacks around; so I don't know if I have a favorite. I do adore ice cream; but I don't eat it very often because I could just keep on eating and eating.

I'm not crazy about the kettle corn, because of the sugar in it. Do they have a savory style?

I like the flavor the corn or olive oil imparts. Then I don't need butter. But I love it with butter and salt, too.

I like popcorn a lot. I do not like some of the strange flavors of it that I have stumbled upon, such as caramel-apple, cheesy (fakey powder cheese, gross!) and the Ranch one did not taste like any Ranch I've ever had before. Plain with a bit of sea salt, I do like kettle corn on occasion, oh, and I love to indulge on homemade caramel corn, yum! It's like a dessert, so good.

I don't like most of those things. I do like it with nutritional yeast or Parmesan cheese. :-)
